Selected experience
At Oracle, I engineered APIs connecting electronic health records with clinical-trial data systems. In an interim management role, I oversaw stakeholder coordination, HIPAA compliance, and delivery to production.
I also led proof-of-concept work on an AI-powered protocol development tool using ClinicalTrials.gov data, alongside work on a metrics and data discovery platform.
As a staff engineer at Ronin, I built Kotlin services that retrieved and transformed data from Epic and Cerner health-record systems. I made that data available to data science and platform teams through Spring Boot services.
I also built a two-way integration between health records and Clinical One to remove manual data entry during clinical trials.
At Taylor, I led a performance initiative that improved data-ingest throughput while reducing compute usage and network traffic. I also helped design a move from legacy enterprise software to Azure Government Cloud.
As engineering manager, I partnered with Product Management on roadmaps and releases, prioritized technical debt, and supported engineers’ growth through goals, reviews, and development opportunities.
A little about me
I’ve worked as a staff engineer, architect, engineering manager, and instructor. That mix keeps me close to the code and the people building it. I have an MBA and a bachelor’s degree in mathematics.
At Tech Elevator, I taught a 32-week full-stack engineering course to about 20 students, covering Java, databases, web APIs, and front-end development. Teaching is another way I help people grow into hard problems.
Away from the keyboard: powerlifting, running, and learning guitar.
